A distorted version of National Anthem has really perturbed the viewers who glimpsed on theatrical trailer of ‘Rann’. Straightway, the censor board officials has denied it’s permission to producers for airing this version based on National Anthem. Censor Board had viewed the promo yesterday morning and were disquieted. Vijay Chawak, Secretary of CBFC stated that it was dead against the guideline 219 of Section 5 (b)2 of Cinematograph Act as well as Prevention of insult to National Honour Act 1971.

Sharmila Tagore, Chairperson of CBFC said that it was veritably a distorted version of National Anthem brushing aside with their lyrical lines (Jana Gana Mana Rann hai, is Rann mein Zakhmi Hua hai Bharat ka Bhagya vidhata)… Nevertheless, producers of the film have come up with their version that CBFC hadn’t officially informed about their decision and they would act according to it.

Ram Gopal Varma had earlier mentioned that it wasn’t a distorted version of Jana Gana Mana while unveiling the first look. Rann has a strong motif based on the present scenario in Contemporary World of Media. Featuring Amitabh Bachchan-Ritesh Deshmukh in lead roles, it also features biggies like Paresh Rawal, Rajat Kapoor, Manisha Koirala, Purab Kohli as well as Gul Panag in prominent characterizations.
